The work of the writer and the artist can be insanely challenging.  Like a personal trainer at the gym, a coach can be there in your corner, lending an ear when you need it, offering guidance when you ask for it, and helping you create a plan of attack tailored to your own personality and goals.

How it works

I work with writers and artists of all types and genres on a one-on-one basis.  We typically schedule two sessions per month in which we assess the artist’s goals, inspiration and mood; his or her progress, and the nuts and bolts of getting that creation out into the world.  Most sessions take place on the phone, and so my clients are located around the world.

The Creative Spirit

Artists and writers need to feel that they are the masters of their domain.  A coach who understands his role can support the artist as a peer and confidant, without breaking that creative spirit.  There’s a time for listening quietly, there’s a time for offering perspective, and there’s a time for holding the clients’ feet to the fire.

I’m a certified coach; a graduate of the Coaching for Transformation curriculum, taught in New York City through the Open Center.  I’ve been a professional writer and photographer for over two decades, published in the New York Times, the Economist, Look Japan, World Art, Wired.com and many others.
