EDITING FOR ALL SEASONS

I offer editing, reading and consulting for both non-fiction and creative works, with special attention to clarity, structure, impact and voice. 

This is not an agency.  If you hire me for editing, you and I will collaborate one-to-one at the start.  I’ll make sure we’re on the same page in regard to the spirit and intent of your work and we’ll clarify what kind of feedback and/or changes you’re looking for.  My recommendations can then best take your work in the direction you want.

I have extensive experience editing for authors and for publishers over a wide range of categories including: novels, memoirs, short stories, articles, plays, screenplays, humor pieces and book proposals.  (So far no lyric poetry or grocery lists, but I’m game.)  I’m also a writing instructor at Gotham Writers’ Workshop in New York.

My rates are flexible and I can tailor my level of feedback to match your budget.  Some authors are looking for a line-by-line edit, some just want overall comments and suggestions.  Whatever you’re looking for, I provide edits and feedback that pull no punches and cut to the essence of your intent, yet are supportive and respectful of your role as master and commander of your work, your art, and your grocery list.
